Behind the Ranges

by Geraldine Taylor

The classic biography of J. O. Fraser, missionary pioneer to the Lisu people of China, contains the famous chapter "The Prayer of Faith" which describes how victories are won and souls are saved by prayer warfare.

Fraser—himself a man who wrestled with God in prayer—discovered how close the connection between the prayers of his mother (and the circle of friends who joined her in intercession) and the victory of Christ over the powers of darkness among the Lisu.  As a result, the Lisu people are largely Christian today.

Born For Battle
by R. Arthur Mathews edited by M.E. Tewksbury

Dr. Neil Anderson of Freedom in Christ Ministries writes in his foreword:

"There was a time I thought I could explain the world through the grid of my Western rational and natural world view. When I turned to Christ for my own salvation, I was taught how to explain the failure of humanity by the nature of the fallen world and the ongoing struggle with the flesh. I learned about the kingdom of God but was taught little about the kingdom of darkness. Then someone put Arthur Mathew's book 'Born for Battle' in my hands and I began to understand the nature of the spiritual battle that believers are called to engage in. `Born for Battle` is one of those Christian classics that needs to be read again and again by every generation. I trust it will do as much for you as it has done for me."

Kham Tibetans - A Prayer Guide
Northeast of Mount Everest on the eastern edge of Tibet and spilling over into the Chinese provinces of Sichuan, Qinghai and Yunnan is the Tibetan area called Kham. Like so many in their part of the world, the Kham's national identity is firmly rooted in their religion. To be Kham Tibetan is to be Buddhist. This has presented a huge challenge to the missionaries who have reached out to Tibetans over the past centuries. While through the years a few have accepted Christ, a Kham church has never been firmly established. Pray with us that the Kham people with grasp the truth of the gospel in a way that transforms their culture.

The Acehnese of Sumatra Prayer Guide
The Acehnese live on the coastlands of the province called Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (country of Aceh, House of Peace). Commonly known as Aceh Province, this area grabbed the world's attention in December 2004 when a devastating nearby earthquake and tsunami took the lives of more than 200,000 people, including thousands of Acehnese.

The Acehnese take pride in a rich culture, heritage, and faith in Islam which has existed for centuries. However, for the last three decades the mostly rural region has been marked by conflict between the Indonesian government and local separatists. Because of this, these warm, social people have had little exposure to the gospel.

Uyghurs are classified as Turkic Muslims. "Uyghur" means "united" or "allied," because the nation is a union of historic clans and tribes, yet they are not united politically. It is a region of tension. Your prayers can lead Uyghurs to know Jesus Christ, the King of glory.

How To Pray For Missionary Kids
By Will Bruce

(Sold in packs of 25)

When God calls Christians into ministry, he desires the whole family to be part of his witness in the community they serve. Christian families can be a powerful witness of God's love and grace through their daily lives. Unfortunately, Satan is also aware that one of his most effective strategies in hindering the Lord's work is to destroy the witness of the family, by taking advantage of the vulnerability of children. This pamphlet will help you pray strategically for MKs.
